This was sort of fortunate for me, since I am short on work right now and I am going to be looking for a place to stay when my lease runs out at the start of the month. I ran into a friend of mine who needs help with a run down little house. It needs a number of things done to it, both small jobs and large ones. For example the place needs new plantation shutters as the ones which it has right now are very unseemly. It appears that some person must have done a rather poor job of trying to repair them. That is a nothing job for me and it would not be a huge problem for just about any person who had any amount of experience or skill. Of course there is a need for a full scale renovation on the inside, but it has to be a renovation where the bottom line makes sense. That is where I come in, because I will get to stay in the place for a few months and save on the rent. So you tell the government that you did all of the work yourself or you do not say a word about that. It saves them the cost of the labor. I have to figure out how to do the job without going over budget and the budget is not going to allow much imagination if I am correct. In fact they seem to have gotten in this without enough spare money to really do it right.The place is small though and it is not like the kitchen is big enough to be that big of a job. The big thing is going to be shoring up the subflooring in the bathroom, apparently it has some water damage which is pretty serious.
